Tu Casa, Inc. honors John and Margaret Biles with the
2011 John and Margaret Biles Guardian Angel Award

John and Margaret Biles, originally of Del Norte, Colorado, were awarded the 2011 John and Margaret Biles Guardian Angel Award in honor of their immense generosity and undying support of Tu Casa’s vision to empower children and adults to live healthy lives, free of sexual assault and domestic violence. Tu Casa’s Executive Director, Ashley Riley Lopes, and Board President, Debbie Sowards Cerny, traveled to Los Angeles, California, to present the award to the couple, who due to age and altitude, are now unable to travel to Colorado.
“Mr. and Mrs. Biles are an amazing example of philanthropy. We were so happy to be able to present them with the award and visit with them at their home,” says Lopes. “We are truly humbled by their generosity and their continuing support of Tu Casa.”
Although originally from Del Norte, the Biles have resided in California for decades, where Mr. Biles served as a professor and Dean of the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy. Beyond their many philanthropic and professional pursuits, the couple is perhaps proudest of their 68-year marriage (they renewed their vows 8 years ago) and their beautiful family.
