November 18, 2025
Dear Valued Allies and Friends:
As we move into the end of the year, a time often filled with love and laughter from family and friends through the holiday season, I wanted to take a moment to connect with you all and thank you with my whole heart for your continued support for Tu Casa, Inc. 2025 has been a year of transition and transformation for our agency, and through it all, your unwavering support has allowed us to continue important healing work with survivors and our community. As I reflect on the work completed in 2025 by Tu Casa, Inc. staff and Board members, my heart soars with pride and gratitude for this group of individuals committed to eliminating domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and child sexual abuse, whom I have the privilege to work with. In reflection of the success we’ve had this year, here are a few highlights from 2025 so far:

- 180 Adult Survivors & their dependents
- 267 Crisis Calls on our 24-hour Hotline
- 8 Acute SANEs
- 15 Wellness Exams
- 60 Child Survivors through the SLV CAC
- 66 Adult & Child Forensic Interviews
- 100 Community Events/Presentations
Outreach Programming

- December: We will host our annual “Gingerbread Festival” in which we celebrate our community through a free Christmas event which will be open to the public.
I addition to all of the hard work this year, Tu Casa, Inc. also celebrated 46 years of service to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and child sexual abuse throughout the entire San Luis Valley. In our 46th year, Tu Casa, Inc. celebrated new staff members joining our team, previous staff members returning to our team, and the promotion of a new Executive Director. Through all the transition, our team remained strong and focused on survivors and programming, all while growing and developing a dynamic team, full of unique skills and dedication to the work.
Tu Casa, Inc.’s 46 years of service is a stark, but beautiful reminder that the work we do in the community of the San Luis Valley is more important than ever. We are still the only organization of its kind throughout the San Luis Valley that supports and serves survivors in a confidential, trauma-informed, and client-led way. Our most recent Domestic Violence Awareness Month Campaign,“With Survivors, Always,” was both a love letter to survivors and a call to action for communities to work in partnership with survivors toward safety, support, and solidarity. Although it may seem an insurmountable request to support survivors, when we often don’t even know where to begin, we continue to do this meaningful work. As we end this year and time is limited, an easy way to support survivors is to make monetary donations to organizations like Tu Casa, Inc. If you’re considering a monetary donation, this is the perfect season for it. November 1st kickstarted Colorado Gives 2026 and Colorado Gives Day will take place on December 9th, 2025.
As 2026 approaches, Tu Casa, Inc. - like many other programs who serve victims/survivors of crime - is at risk of being severely impacted by cuts to federal VOCA & OVW funds. Though Tu Casa, Inc. remains committed to our work and staff, the risk of these federal cuts correlates to a risk of losing important programming that works to serve survivors and build a safer community in our Valley. As we navigate these challenges, we must lean on our community.
As such, I graciously ask that you consider donating to Tu Casa, Inc. this Colorado Gives Day, helping us ensure survivors in our community have access to services that empower them to live a healthy, violence- free life. I know the holiday season can get difficult financially, but any amount you can contribute now, or on December 9th, is greatly appreciated and makes a significant impact in our community.
Tu Casa, Inc. can’t do what we do without your help. I want to personally thank you for your continued and ongoing support. We are so grateful to you for allowing us the space to make a difference. Have a blessed and healthy holiday season.
Warmly,
Megan Lang, BA

Welcome to the new Tu Casa, Inc. Blog! As we’ve started to reflect on the past year, we decided we wanted to create an opportunity for you all to stay connected with us in a more meaningful way. This blog will seek to expand your knowledge on what Tu Casa, Inc. is, who the incredible members of this small, but fierce, team are that keep Tu Casa, Inc. operational, and to share the passion we have about the work we do here to support survivors in the San Luis Valley.
What is Tu Casa, Inc.?
Tu Casa, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose vision is to empower all children and adults to live healthy, violence-free lives. Tu Casa, Inc. is an umbrella agency that has 4 different programs, which each serve a unique population with unique needs. The Tu Casa Program, not to be confused with Tu Casa, Inc., provides crisis intervention services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and intimate partner stalking. The Children’s Advocacy Center of the San Luis Valley (SLV CAC) provides crisis services to child survivors of sexual assault, severe physical abuse/neglect, or who have been witness to a crime, as well as to their non-offending care providers. The Tu Casa, Inc. SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Program provides services to both adults and children who have been victim to a sexual assault or severe physical assault. The Tu Casa, Inc. Education & Outreach Program seeks to engage all members of our community in our prevention work, aimed at reducing the rates of victimization through early education rather than intervention.
How does Tu Casa, Inc. help?
We recognize every survivor in the SLV has a unique story and experience. With that unique experience, come unique needs, as well as unique personal strengths. Tu Casa, Inc.’s mission is to support healthy, violence-free lives and relationships for all children and adults in the San Luis Valley by:
- providing crisis intervention, shelter services, and advocacy to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and their non-offending family members/caregivers.
- empowering the community to affect sustainable social change through awareness building and prevention education.
- coordinating professional efforts to respond to interpersonal violence in a victim-centered manner.
